    Skyland Akitas is a family run breeder. We only Breed the Akita, in fact we only own Akitas.
The Akita is a special Dog that is intelligant, stubborn at times and yet is the most loyal dog you will ever meet. Please be familiar with the breed before you decide to raise them. We want you to know what you are doing before buying an Akita. This breed is originally from Japan and is highly cherrished in that country. We have found great joy in raising and breeding this type of dog, but some may think it is to much of a challange. We have been raising our Akitas for over 17 years now and have been breeding for 5 years. 
    The akita is a one family dog that attaches to a family like no other. Therefore we are very particular about the families that choose to look at our pups. We want the babies to have forever homes. 
    The families that have recieved some of our pups have written some reviews and below I am pleased to share  them with you. We run an honest and loving business and we hope that you will enjoy looking at some of the pictures of our dogs and their babies.

All of our puppies are veterinarian checked, have health certificates, 1st set of shots, worming, and bathed weekly. We take a lot of time socializing them. All pups have begun the house training before they ever go to their new homes. We take extra time handling them from birth till they go to their new families. Working with the pups at a young age helps them to be social happy puppies. Puppies are fun all the time but working with them is best as early as possible. We have found that taking the time now makes a better adult Akita. I am sure you will agree once you have researched for your new Akita.

 Very smooth and easy transaction!!

Kathi was very helpful from the first minute talks began. I called her and she discussed the whole process with me and made me feel extremely comfortable buying from her. During the 4 weeks we had to wait to pick our puppy up, Kathi sent e-mails with pictures and answered any question I had for her about our pup or any Akita in general. Larry and Kathi seem to be very loving sellers and care a lot about each dog they bring up. Our dog has socialized well with others the first week and we haven't had many problems. Overall, a very good experience!!

 Koda

We recently purchased our new Akita Koda, formerly known as Flash, from Kathi. She was awesome through the three weeks we had to wait, keeping us updated with current pictures and news about our darling little boy. Hes a calm little guy and came to us 100% housebroken. When we arrived at their house we were greeted by there adult Akitas, they were so friendly. I highly reccommend Kathi to anyone who is looking to add an Akita to their family.  Fantastic experience

We just bought our first two Akita puppies from Kathi and the experience was most pleasant. She shipped them from CO to CA and it couldn't have been a more perfect first-time experience. The puppies are fulfilling our every desire for healthy, loving, purebred Akitas. The dogs are highly socialized. We always hear about ripoffs doing business online, but this was a positive transaction. If we could afford Emily, we would certainly buy her, also. Our new puppies are a wonderful addition to our family. Thank you, Kathi.

 The first great addition to our family

I got Loki 2 years ago, and I have had no problem. I became pregant and I was worried about how well Loki would adjust to the new addtion, and I didn't even need to. As soon as I had my baby boy Loki accepted him into the pack at just three days old. There has never been any friction between Loki and my son Gage. Loki is Gage's personal horse and he loves it.  LOVE ABOUNDS

If love can be absorbed through the womb Larry & Kathi passes it to all their loved ones (2 and 4 legged!). Great families produce the best breeding and their's cannot be topped. We wanted 1 and left with 2. After the first week we were all family, and the pups... well, we and our three cats have been fully adopted by them!! Kong

 

 

My husband purchased our puppy Kong in August 07 for my wedding present. He is now a happy healthy beautiful 4 month old bundle of joy. He is the most calm puppy I have ever seen he is wonderful our cats and our nephews. We could not be more happy with our new baby. I Have just purchased my 3rd. female Akita from Larry and Kathi in the last year.I could not be more pleased with my Girls. They are all Absolutely Stunning in appearance and temperment.Larry and Kathi were great with all the help they gave me in choosing my Pups since I was doing it all on-line and over the phone.  Great Family Breeders!

 

We purchased Levi from Larry and Kathi in June 2007. We had done some research on Akita's and Larry and Kathi had so much information about the breed. They are such caring breeders for the puppies in their care. Levi was so nearly potty trained when we picked him up at 6 weeks it was amazing! If we are to ever purchase another Akita.... we will turn to Larry and Kathi first! You can trust this family!

 Best Breeders on planet Earth

 

I purchased my Akita (Koda) a little over 2 years ago. Kathi, Larry & Family made sure to keep us well informed regarding his diet, vet visits, play time, etc. Extremely consistent with updates & pictures. My Koda has an amazing temperment for an Akita, loves to be around children and LOVES to play with toys. I would only buy from them!!!

I was very leary of buying a puppy online. Talking with Kathy, she answered all of my questions and made me feel very comfortable. I purchased my puppy 1yr. ago so I can vouche for his very loving, tolerant, & playful temperament. He is very well socialized because he was handled as a puppy so much. I would recomend these breeders to anyone looking for an akita with a great personality. We adore our dog!!!

This seller is very concerned with their animals. The pups are worked with daily in a family atmosphere with children and other dogs. All I can say is if you're interested in an Akita, these people are worth contacting. I'm very happy with my pup, the way I was treated when I looked at her the first time and during the purchase. Vet records were in order along with other paperwork. I still keep in contact with them and they love to get updates from me.
